Class Experience: Coding is a part of the computer science curriculum currently lacking in schools. YoungGates believes all kids can code and it allows them to become creators and inventors, which is what we need our children to do as they get older.
Coding is a great way to build social and emotional skills that include, perseverance, resilience and problem solving as well as creativity and innovation.
Learning Guide: Students will learn the basics of what coding is by:
- Compare coding concepts and giving a character a command
- Watching video explanations of how coding, algorithms and debugging are related to humans
- Working together to get the character, home by providing a code.
- Working on code.org to begin coding tasks together as a group

Student Age & Experience: Ideal for students age 4-7. All experience levels welcomed.
Scheduling: Coordination of course schedule will be directly with YoungGates following registration. Flexible options available to suit your schedule.
Parent Information: Students will learn various tools as we progress in the program. They will be learning by working on projects in class and will be expected to apply concepts by creating projects with their own imagination after the class.
